Where does the time go ...

Can it already be fall?  What happened to summer?  Parties, graduations, weddings, visits across the country, house sale, moving, new business endeavors.  It wasn't as though I was idle.

I promised pictures in my last post so I am determined to be a better blogger from this point forward.  I am at least back at it before the baby is about to start school but he has been born and he is certainly precious.  His nursery is beautiful and his Grandmother doting and to hear her you'd think he was sitting up reading to all the other newborns in the hospital.  I totally understand her love and she won't be an ordinary Grandma either.

The shower was a beautiful event and as expected the centerpiece, as you can see, was an unbelievable creation done perfectly by my sister.  Give her an inspiration and she certainly can make it bloom - pun intended.

Left are the party favors and we just simply tied the flatware up with twine.  Below are some sweet baby toes.

As new little lives are born to the world it reminds us all of what our real priorites must be and it simply brings hope to our hearts.

  1. Hi Yvonne. I love your "About to Hatch" invitations. So cute!! My husband and I are expecting our first child and I wanted to do these as our invitations. Have you ever made them for people and charged for them? I would be interested in purchasing them, if you would be willing to make them. I don't have the time or skill to make them. You can e-mail me at bethbri@gmail.com. Thanks so much!

We All Have Our Baggage

You have probably noticed while traveling that when your luggage comes onto the carousel in baggage claim your little black bag looks pretty much like everyone else's.  I solved this problem by creating monogrammed bag tags. Using bright and beautiful grosgrain ribbon I used a font called Eccentric and embroidered directly onto the ribbon as it was held in place on my stabilizer with adhesive spray. The font was skinny enough that I could use a bigger more bold 2 inch initial.  To make them sturdy enough to survive the handling process I used large grommets. In addition I thought they could use a bit of extra embellishment and I added a wooden bead and some extra ribbons tied on to jazz them up a bit.  Getting that ribbon through the bead proved to be the most difficult part of the entire process but I liked how it finished them. Fun colors that will certain make your bag stand out in a crowd.  We all have our baggage - flag yours! Ribbons are 1 1/2 inche
